TIG Fly Does it again

March 5, 2019 - ATLANTA - Think It’s A Game Records (T.I.G.) CEO, Girvan “Fly” Henry, a.k.a Billionaire Fly is partnering with Cliff Palmer to give back to the Carver S.T.E.A.M. Academy in Atlanta via the Trust In Giving Foundation with the launch of the “Think You Can Fly?” initiative.  The initiative will be formerly announced at a student assembly at Carver High School (55 McDonough Blvd. SE; ATL 30315) on Friday, March 8th, 2019 @ 2:15pm.

The “Think You Can Fly” initiative will identify students enrolled in the S.T.E.A.M. Academy at Carver with an interest in careers in the music industry, both behind the scenes and as talent. The initiative's alternative curriculum will allow students to hone their skills while learning the business directly from industry professionals.

The hope is to also keep the kids off the streets through the vessel of music. According to a Sentencing Project report, Black youth were more than five times as likely to be detained or committed [to jail] compared to white youth. As one who once fit this statistic, Fly is committed to helping others avoid that path.

“I was always in trouble as a kid," explains Fly. "I went to jail so much that my teachers thought I wouldn’t make it to see 21. I knew I had to change my life around. I want to empower young people and show them that they always have the power to change their lives, even if they come from nothing."

In addition to the "Think You Can Fly?" initiative, the Trust In Giving Foundation has renovated the Carver High School recording studio, which gives students access to a state of the art facility.
